Why "The Clinical Eye" Exists?
The O.R.T.A. Professional Soccer Academy was founded in 2022 with a single mandate: identify elite-level, American youth talent and help the academy's players to prepare for professional soccer in Europe (specifically, in Spain). The American youth system produces extraordinary athletes, but it grades them on a curve. Club evaluations flatter players. Showcases sell exposure, not answers. The Clinical Eye is our answer: a professional-grade, evaluation engine that measures every player against the standard that actually matters — the European professional benchmark — and tells the truth about the gap.

Before founding the O.R.T.A. Academy, Coach Castro spent two decades as an international corporate attorney at some of the world's leading law firms; then, he became one of the top women's soccer agents in the U.S., placing 87 players in professional soccer clubs in Europe during a 4-year period. Representing elite-level, American players, he negotiated directly with general managers and technical directors of professional soccer clubs across Europe and, in so doing, he learned, from the inside, exactly how European clubs scout and evaluate talent: coldly, precisely, and without sentiment. 'The Clinical Eye' product is designed based on the Spanish 'metodologia' standard, systematized and adapted to develop American players. The scoring framework was built with the close cooperation of Coach Fran Escuin, a UEFA Pro-licensed coach who used to be the technical director of the youth program for Arsenal (UK). He is, now, the technical director in Spain of the O.R.T.A. Professional Soccer Academy. Our film-study programs are honed and refined across hundreds of hours watching game-film analysis.

The Pathway Is Real
The first player to complete the O.R.T.A. development methodology was evaluated with the same six domains and the same honest scoring you'll receive. The report told her exactly what to fix. She did the work. In 2024 she signed with Deportivo Alavés B in Spain. In 2025 she competed in UEFA Champions League qualifying. That is the pathway: honest diagnosis, structured development, and professional placement.
Our Rule: The Unvarnished Truth
Every evaluation report is written per-player, by hand, by the academy's technical directors, and is measured against European-soccer benchmarks. We never inflate a score. We never soften a verdict. A 5.4 score is just that: a 5.4 score, devoid of flattery. Our report comes with the exact prescription to raise a player's score and, thus, her overall game-performance. Players and parents sometimes find the first report uncomfortable. The players who accept the constructive criticism and act on it - doing the prescribed work - improve their scores and stop needing comfort.
